This Microgrant came at a difficult time during the pandemic when all music-related events were cancelled in 2020 and uncertainty was at an all time high. It acted as a morality boost for most of these artists that received it because it validated their worth. The Microgrant gave artists a reason to continue working together online and in-person to keep the creative juices flowing. Because of the flexibility of this microgrant, it allowed artists to change their project ideas to adapt with pandemic responses and the needs of their production team. The outcome of this microgrant created more community, hope and connection during a very hard time for artists in Vancouver.
